STRIKER Porya "Rio" Ahmadi has left Rhyl to join Stalybridge Celtic in National League North.

The Iranian-born 23-year-old first arrived in the Welsh Premier League with Bangor City in August 2015 and scored eight goals from 20 (+8) appearances fot the Citizens.

Ahmadi switched to the Lilywhites last August and notched three goals from a further 9 (+5) appearances for the Belle Vue outfit.

He began his career with Sheffield United and was a prolific goal scorer in English non-league circles scoring hat-tricks in successive games for Salford City and also appearing for Chorley, Skelmersdale United, Droylsden, Mossley, New Mills, Ramsbottom United and Trafford.
