HAVERFORDWEST County's promotion hopes suffered a blow as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Briton Ferry Llansawel.

"This was the worse we have played all season, no complaints with the final result, but it’s a bitter pill to swallow," admitted Bluebirds' manager Wayne Jones.

The visitors could have taken the lead in the 24th minute when they were awarded a penalty, but Luke Borrelli struck his effort from 12 yards straight at the keeper.

Ten minutes later the hosts took the lead through Gavin Jones and Steve Daley secured the points for Ferry on the hour mark. The defeat leaves County in fourth place, six points adrift of leaders Penybont who have played three games more.

Goytre United took over in third place with a 9-0 hammering of hapless AFC Porth.  Monmouth Town beat Ton Pentre 2-0 with goals from Ben Evans and Elliot Evans to leave the visitors still in the relegation zone, although they have games in hand on their rivals.

Aberdare Town were 3-2 winners at Garden Village while Pontardawe Town won 2-0 at home to Goytre.
