GOYTRE are top of the Welsh League after a 3-1 home win over Garden Village.

The Gwent outfit are a point ahead of Goytre United, who emerged 2-0 winners away at Penybont.

The students of Cardiff Met University went down to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of champions Caerau Ely, whose goals from Lloyd Toghill and a screamer from Louis Gerrard.

Aberdare Town are fourth following an excellent 3-0 away win at Risca United with an own goal plus efforts from Nathan Jenkins and Christian Davies, who sealed the win on 89 minutes.

The result of the day was Afan Lido's 4-0 home win over high-flyers Barry Town United, Chris Hartland leading the way with a har-trick. Carl Evans marked his debut after transferring from Carmarthen Town by heading against the bar for Elliot Thomas to score from the rebound.

Ton Pentre claimed fifth place after a 2-1 away win at Taffs Well, Luke Jones and Tom Billing giving the Bulldogs a two-goal cushion either side of half-time before the hosts pulled a goal back.

Cambrian & Clydach overcame Aberbargoed Buds 1-0 while Monmouth beat Briton Ferry Llansawel by the same scoreline.
