LEADERS Goytre suffered a hangover from their Welsh Cup heroics last weekend at Llandudno as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Gwent rivals Cwmbran Celtic.
Goals from Andrew Larcombe and Owen Cook sealed the win with Callum Miles the visitors' scorer.
But Cambrian & Clydach and Afan Lido were unable to close the gap, the former losing to a 38th-minute Rhys Dalling goal for Haverfordwest County at the Bridge Meadow. Lido went down to a 1-0 home defeat to derby rivals Port Talbot Town at the Marstons' Stadium, the game's only goal coming from Jonathan Hood.
Caerau Ely moved into second place by hammering Penybont 5-1 with the visitors unable to maintain the form which saw them dispose of Airbus UK in the Welsh Cup. Rameer Outlaw, Jamal Roberts and Curtis Hudson with a hat-trick which included two penalties were the home heroes.
Strugglers Caldicot Town and Risca United drew 1-1 in the day's other game.
