A QUICK-fire brace from Scott Quigley early in the second half ensured holders The New Saints booked their place in the Word Cup final for a second successive season.

In difficult windy conditions at Park Hall, TNS took a fifth-minute lead when saw his header parried by keeper Lee Idzi but was able to bundle the rebound into an empty net.

The Old Gold were level on 20 minutes thanks to Liam Thomas, who headed home from a narrow angle.

But the Saints were back in front on 36 minutes when Simon Spender found space to fire into the bottom corner.

Quigley, who spent time on-loan with Carmarthen three seasons ago, fired home from a Ryan Edwards pass in the 53rd-minute and the game was over three minutes later when he capitalised on a defensive error to add his second.

And Quigley nearly made it a hat-trick late in the game but saw his shot trickle inches wide.
