THE Nathaniel MG Cup semi-final between Gap Connah's Quay and The New Saints was abandoned a quarter of an hour from time as fog descended on the Deeside Stadium.

With the scores level at 2-2, referee Huw Jones decided that conditions were unlikely to improve and a re-arranged date is awaited.

The visitors took the lead on the half hour when a Wes Baynes back-header to keeper John Danby was seized on by Wes Fletcher, who made no mistake from just outside the six-yard box.

But the lead was brief before Baynes delivered a free-kick for Nick Rushton to send a looping header over Andrew Wycherley.

Four minutes before the break, Nomads took the lead as Matty Owen pounced on an error from Wycherley and his 20-yard shot deflected off Les Davies into the net.

Five minutes after the interval, Chris Seargeant equalised for TNS from a free-kick but it was all in vain for both sides as the elements took control.
