GOALKEEPER Paul Harrison was the hero as The New Saints prevailed in a penalty shoot-out for the second time this season to defeat Queen of the South in the quarter-finals of the Irn-Bru Cup.

After a stalement in normal and extra-time, goal scoring proved no easier in the penalty shoot out as Jamie Mullan and Ryan Brobbel for TNS and Derek Lyle and Stephen Dobbie for the Doonhamers all missed their kicks.

But the next seven kicks were all on target with keeper Paul Harrison putting the Saints 4-3 ahead, before returning to goal to make a superb save from Andy Stirling.
