BANGOR City manager Gary Taylor-Fletcher has signed midfielder Steven Hewitt, who was recently released by one of his former clubs Accrington Stanley.

Manchester-born Hewitt, 23, started his career in the youth teams of Blackburn Rovers and then Stockport County, before signing two-year scholarship terms with Burnley in 2010.

He signed his first professional contract in October 2011 on a two-and-a-half-year deal and made his debut for the Clarets in April 2012. After loan spells with Alfreton Town and Southport, he was released and played for Chester before joining Stanley, where he made nine appearances.
