RHYL utility man Lewis Coyle has signed for Goulburn Valley Suns in Australia, the same club where ex-Lilywhites' midfielder Rob Hughes is plying his trade.

Coyle, 28, moved to the Welsh Premier with Aberystwyth Town last season, transferring to Belle Vue in the January window, and has made seven (+7) WPL appearances to date.

"It was only a few weeks ago that I was playing from Rhyl and now I am playing in Australia," says Coyle, who trained briefly with Hughes at Rhyl but never played alongside the midfielder before his move to the Victorian Premier League.

"Rob spoke highly of the club, he came from the same position as me, so to hear from someone who has done it before me was nice," Coyle added.

"I slept on it for one night and before I knew it I was packing my bags to come over. [Manager] Nikos Kalafatis had told me that I was going to play as a striker, but he knows I can play defence, so wherever he needs me I am happy to fill the void."
