LATE goals from Alex Darlington and Jamie Mullan earned The New Saints a hard-fought victory over Bala Town at Park Hall.

The Lakesiders had taken a 42nd-minute lead when Stuart J Jones headed home after Conall Murtagh had flicked-on a free kick. But TNS were back on level terms soon after the interval as Adrian Cieslewicz took full advantage after keeper Ashley Morris had fumbled the ball.

The game was heading for a draw until, four minutes from time, Cieslewicz was brought down in the box and sub Alex Darlington stepped-up to despatch the resulting penalty. And, in the final minute, Darlington turned provider with a cross that was converted by Jamie Mullan.

Bala responded when Ian Sheridan scored but it was too late to raise hopes of an equaliser for the visitors.
