BALA Town will host Alloa Athletic in the fourth round of the Irn-Bru Cup, while The New Saints were handed a trip to Forfar Athletic.

The draw was made by former Welsh international and Celtic striker John Hartson and Scottish football supporter Michael Douglas at Oriam, Scotland's Sports Performance Centre today.

All ties will be played on the weekend of October 8/9 and one of the matches involving a Welsh Premier club will be screened live on S4C.

In this new initiative by the SPFL, the WPL duo will receive at least £5,750 for taking part in the fourth round and TNS a further allowance of £4,000 for travelling to another country.

The 12 third-round winners were joined in the last 16 by the top two clubs from Northern Ireland last season - Crusaders and Linfield, as well as the WPL champions and runners-up.

The draw in full:

  • Bala Town v Alloa Athletic
  • Forfar Athletic v The New Saints
  • Crusaders v Livingston
  • Queen of the South v Linfield
  • Hibernian v St Mirren
  • Dunfermline Athletic v Queens Park
  • Ayr United v Falkirk
  • Stranraer v Dundee United
