THE New Saints will host APOEL Nicosia next Tuesday night after easing past Champions League minnows Tre Penne 5-1 on aggregate.

A double whammy either side of the interval from Scott Quigley and Aeron Edwards set-up a 3-0 win in San Marino for Craig Harrison's side.

Marco Agostinelli saw an early effort saved by Paul Harrison before Edwards drew a save from Mattia Migani.

Adrian Cieslewicz for TNS and Luca Patregnani both missed the target in a first half of few chances.

But the deadlock was broken on the stroke of half time with goal from Quigley, who capitalised on a defensive error and, two minutes into the second period, the lead was doubled by Edwards who headed home Chris Marriott's cross.

Tre Penne kept on fighting and Agostinelli had a great opening only to see Harrison save, but Quigley came close to another in a one-on-one with Migani.

But substitute Greg Draper put the icing on the cake with a goal in the final minute, beating the offside flag to convert from a Joe Routledge assist.

TNS will host APOEL of Nicosia at Park Hall next Tuesday July 12 in the second qualifying round.
