BOTH Bala Town and Connah's Quay went down to defeat in their final friendly preparation games before next week's Europa League first qualifying round ties.

The Lakesiders matched Crusaders for 79 minutes at Belfast's Seaview before falling behind to a goal from Billy Joe Burns, who had hit a post with a shot in the first half.

Nomads fell 2-0 to St Johnstone in a behind closed doors affair at Rangers' Murray Park training facility, both goals coming after the break from Blair Alston and Graham Cummins.
