FORMER Welsh Premier defender Adam Worton has been named as the Spar Mid Wales League's manager of the month.

The 27-year-old is now in charge of Knighton Town, who won all their games in Division 2 during November.

Released by Hereford United in 2006 after four first team appearances and two seasons with the reserve team, Worton signed Welsh Premier forms with Caersws in the summer of 2006, before being one of Darren Ryan's first signings for Newtown in November of the same year.

After five seasons at Latham Park, he joined Airbus UK Broughton in August 2011 for a nominal fee but was released at the end of season 2011/12 due to work commitments and decided to sign for Aberystwyth Town.

Worton returned to Newtown in the January 2013 transfer window before leaving the league after 12 goals from 179 (+26) appearances.
