WITH one of their main rivals Guilsfield suffering a postponement, Llandudno forged nine points clear at the top of the Huws Gray Alliance.

But it took the leaders 57 minutes to break down resilient Flint Town United, who eventually crashed 5-0 at Maesdu Park.

Toby Jones opened the scoring and Danny Hughes added a second within a minute, before further goals from Lee Thomas, Marc EVans and Gareth Evans sealed the victory.

Caernarfon Town went into second place with a 2-1 win against local rivals Porthmadog at The Traeth in front of a crowd of 537.

Darren Thomas put the Canaries ahead just past the hour mark, but Port were level within a minute through Stuart Rogers before Jay Gibbs unleashed a superb 30-yard strike to win it for the visitors.

A crowd of 562 watched Caersws win the mid-Wales derby against Llanidloes Town 3-0, Steve Blenkinsop scoring twice and Mark Griffiths adding a third.

In the only other game to survive the weather, Holyhead Hotspur forged a three-goal lead through Gareth Jones-Evans and a Julian Williams brace.

But they were forced to survive a late comeback as the Tangerines responded through a Leon Williams penalty and, after Mel McGuiness had been red-carded for the hosts, a Phil Doran goal in stoppage time.
