THE New Saints and Cefn Druids reprised May's Welsh Cup final as the domestic Welsh pre-season got under way at Park Hall.
The hosts ran out comfortable 5-0 winners against their Huws Gray Alliance opponents as both clubs await their fate in Monday's Uefa draws.
Home boss Craig Harrison fielded former TNS favourite Chris King alongside another trialist in his starting eleven, but it was youth duo Scott Quigley and Naim Arsan who claimed first-half goals.
Quigley swept home Alex Darlington's pass from 12 yards before Arsan swooped on a loose ball in the box after the visitors had beaten away two shots.
Harrison rotated almost his entire side at the break and striker Greg Draper shrugged-off his omission from the Kiwi Olympic squad to claim an impressive hat-trick.
After notching his first from 12 yards out, Draper controlled well to fire home his second from Chris Marriott's pass and then produced a neat sidestep to convert an inside pass from Scott Ruscoe.
Despite being beaten five times, Ancients' keeper Chris Mullock produced some heroics with fine saves from Draper, Chris Seargeant and Marriott.
