| Garside and Roberts become Citizens |
| Tuesday 30 June 2009 |
CRAIG Garside has decided to complete a move to Bangor City, who have also signed ex-Rhyl defender Chris Roberts.A former Everton youth, Garside was in Powell's squad at Connah's Quay Nomads after starting his Welsh Premier career with Caernarfon. He scored in Rhyl's InterToto Cup tie against FC Haka, but was unable to secure a regular first team place and returned to Nomads in August 2008. After captaining Wales at Under-15, Under-16 and Under-19 level, Garside - who has also played for Colwyn Bay - has scored seven goals from 57 starts in the domestic league and will fill a potential gap at Farrar Road, with midfielder Mike Walsh contemplating moving to live abroad. Released by Rhyl at the end of last season, Roberts had been linked with a move to Colwyn Bay, where he played prior to entering the Welsh Premier with NEWI Cefn Druids. The 23-year-old left-back joined the Lilywhites in November 2006 from Plas Kynaston where he made 24 league starts over two seasons. Since arriving at Belle Vue he has added another 53 appearances in the league but was not an automatic choice last term under Allan Bickerstaff.
