BETTWS have been fined £500 plus costs following a brawl in their Welsh League match against Cambrian & Clydach on March 21. The match was abandoned at half-time and the hosts faced a FAW disciplinary hearing charged that players failed to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or refrain from violence, threatening, abusive, obscene or provocative behaviour, conduct or language. The hearing decided that £250 of the fine would remain suspended until the end of next season and will be levied only if the club is found guilty of another incident involving its players during this period. The charge was also found proven against Bettws FC officials and staff and the £250 suspended fine will apply to them also. Exactly the same treatment was handed out to Cambrian & Clydach players – but not the club’s officials and staff, as that charge was found not proven. |
