CAERAU (Ely) continue to head the Welsh League after holding promotion hopefuls Haverfordwest County to a 1-1 draw at the New Bridge Meadow.

Despite being a goal down at half time and reduced to 10-men, the Cardiff visitors battled to a point thanks to a goal from Lloyd Toghill.

Cardiff Met University took over second spot with a 5-0 trouncing of Afan Lido, who continued their slide down the table.

Adam Roscrow with a brace, Josh Barnett, Jordan Lam and Nathan Facey were the scorers for the students.

Goytre United are fourth after a 1-0 win at Ynys Park where new Ton Pentre manager Lee Phillips watched from the stands as his new charges went down to a second-half Darren Griffiths goal.

Penybont were 3-1 winners at Pontardawe Town where Jake Roberts, Anthony Rawlings and Richard French were the goal scorers.

Taffs Well won 3-0 at Aberdare Town with Sam Small, Marcus Jones and Joseph Evans on target, while Briton Ferry Llansawel overcame AFC Porth by the same scoreline.

Goytre were also 3-0 winners at home to Cambrian & Clydach while, on Friday night, Monmouth Town were victorious 4-1 at Garden Village after going behind. Nick Harrhy restored parity after the break before an own goal and further efforts from Chris Ham and Harrhy again.
