RHYL goalkeeper Alex Ramsay defied the Bangor City attack as the north Wales coast rivals drew 0-0 at Belle Vue in the live TV game.
The visitors were denied an early chance to take the lead when the officials missed a Mark Powell handball from a Chris Jones cross but, despite City dominating possession, the Lillies had the first real chance on the half hour when Jason Oswell's cross from the byline was blocked by Ryan Edwards and Anthony Miley cleared to safety.
Ramsay pulled-off a superb fingertip save to keep out a Sion Edwards free-kick just before the break, but Rhyl almost fell behind in the second half when Sion Edwards pounced on a weak pass from Chris Rimmer and Ryan Astles prevented a Jamie Petrie shot from finding the back of the net.
Ramsay made another fine stop from Chris Jones in a one-on-one after a defensive mix-up between Astles and Rimmer as City failed to make their dominance pay.
The New Saints returned to the top of the table with a 3-0 home win over Prestatyn Town. Mike Wilde had already hit the bar before Matty Williams tapped-in a sixth minute goal from close range.
But the hosts had to wait until late in the game to secure the points with sub Greg Draper scoring twice inside three minutes.
Afan Lido are still bottom of the table on goal difference, but joined Bala Town and Port Talbot on 13 points with their third win of the season.
Chris Venables rose highest from a corner to head Aberystwyth into a 44th-minute lead at the Marstons' Stadium, but Lido equalised when Ian Hillier also headed home from a flag kick.
The winner came from the head of Carmarthen loanee Alex Chrysanthou who scored on his debut from Scott McCoubrey's cross in the 66th-minute.
Newtown produced the result of the day with a 2-0 win at third-place Carmarthen who crashed to a second consecutive home defeat thanks to Robins' goals from Matthew Hearsey and Luke Boundford.
Port Talbot gained a much needed 2-0 win at gap Connah's Quay where Lee John created the opening for Martin Rose to open the scoring on 18 minutes.
Rose then turned provider for John to seal the win in the 56th-minute as Nomads crashed to their seventh defeat on the trot.
