Mike ThompsonMIKE Thompson is a New Year target for Bala Town manager Colin Caton.
The Lakesiders have put in seven days' notice of approach for the Porthmadog winger, who turns 26 next month.
A July 2004 signing for Cefn Druids from West Cheshire League outfit Mond Rangers, Thompson moved to Rhyl in the summer of 2005 but did not make a Welsh Premier appearance for the Lilywhites, moving to Welshpool in October.
He left Maesydre in pre-season 2006, returning in October the same year, but then moved back to Plas Kynaston Lane in January 2008.
After another brief spell at Welshpool early this year he followed manager Tomi Morgan to Porthmadog this summer and has now scored 11 goals from 91 (+25) league appearances.
Meanwhile, Morgan says he intends to strengthen in the January window in a bid for Super 12 status.
